Porters Sideling, Pennsylvania Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The Porters Sideling City population is approximately 1,600. Its name derives from the Grevious Valley, which was a productive and fertile valley with good soil for raising crops. In 1852, a merchant named Porter asked for a sideling to transport his grain from Grevious Valley to Baltimore. He also set up a brickyard and played the Porter's Band for over seventy years. In the early nineteenth century, bricks were still made by hand, but modern machinery was installed a few years later. At the time, bricks were made using wood to harden them. Paul L. Brillhart donated land to the Porters Sideling Fire Company.
