Coalport City, Pennsylvania, has a distinct and continuous downtown business district, a distinct distinction from the towns of Glen Hope and Irvona. The downtown area is comprised of a few historic buildings, notably the 1890 Central Hotel. While the windows on the first story have been altered, the dormers on the third story remain unchanged. The five-and-ten store, operated by the fourth generation of the same family, was also well preserved.
