Wilkesboro is a town located in Wilkes County, North Carolina. The population was 4,116 at the 2000 census, and it was 4,245 at the 2010 census. North Wilkesboro is the birthplace of Lowe's Home Improvement and continues to have a large presence there. The town is home to one of the first NASCAR-sanctioned racetracks, and it's known as the "Key to the Blue Ridge."
