Stittville, New York Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The city of Stittville was founded as a small collection of houses and shops on the 12th line of Goulbourn Township. Located at Carp Road and Hazeldean Road, Stittsville was originally a farming community. English and Irish immigrants settled the area, and many were soldiers in the 99th Regiment that helped settle Richmond. The population grew slowly until 1961, when Stittville became a Police Village. The city was eventually absorbed into the surrounding area in 1974, when the municipality was merged with Goulbourn Township.

Thousands of new homes are being built in Stittsville, but zoning regulations are based on the assumption that the city will eventually have rapid transit. However, the city's transportation system does not support such a high growth rate. This means that it lags behind other nearby suburbs, such as Orleans, which has the bus Transitway, and Barrhaven, which has a light rail system. The city's leaders need to prioritize rapid transit for its residents to keep up with the rapidly growing population.

Residents of Stittville City will appreciate the convenience of living in the area. A number of restaurants, major grocery stores, and large retailers are conveniently located in the city center. Residents will find a range of services and amenities at the Stittville Shopping Centre, including a pharmacy, hair salon, and yoga studio. There are also several unique locally owned businesses that serve as community hubs.
