Sag Harbor, New York Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The population and steets of Sag Harbor City are a mix of ethnicities. Many wealthy African Americans lived in the area prior to the Awakening and Leveling, and it has been designated a municipal historic district by the Manhattan Landmarks Preservation Commission. Today, the population of Sag Harbor City includes a diverse mix of people, with a small minority of Latinos and Afro-Americans. Other residents speak Arabic, English, French, Greek, and Spanish. A growing number of metahumans also live in the neighborhood.

Despite the large number of immigrants in the area, the city's redevelopment efforts have largely left much of its historic downtown unscathed. The Bowery, an historic neighborhood that was destroyed by the '05 quake, is still home to the famous CBGB, which has hosted legendary rock 'n' roll acts since 1973. Another notable landmark is McSorley's Old Ale House, which opened in 1854 and has since undergone renovations.

The village itself is home to a 16-story building, Castle Village, which is the district's only residential neighborhood. It's located on the opposite side of Cabrini Boulevard and is home to several gangs, including the Soulmen, the Latin Eagles, and the Skulls. Another gang, the Bloody Goblins, is active in the area, and there is a large Filipino and Chinese community.
