Listed below are the population and steets for Rushford City, Minnesota. This city is located in Rushford Township, which is now named Rushford Village and Peterson Village. It was incorporated as a city in 1868 and the original act stated that it should continue as a part of the town. On April 6, 1868, voters cast ballots for the city or town, and the city was incorporated, thus ending the connection between the town and city.

The population of Rushford is estimated to reach 1,680 in 2020. The city lies on the Root river, which flows into the city from the west and leaves the town from the east. This creek was named for the tall rushes growing along its banks. The city was incorporated in 1868. It was called Trail City in the early days, but is now one of Minnesota's most progressive and prosperous cities.

In the early years, four families lived on the present site of Rushford. One Scotch family and two Norwegian families also lived there. Three families lived to the west and four to the south of the Root river. In 1855, Mr. Dyer sold the land to Soloman West and G. Q. Stevens. They built a log house near the Park Hotel. During the winter, two of the children died from fever. The Otis family was joined by Mr. Stebbins, who was Mr. Dyer's brother-in-law.
