The lake was once a summer retreat for rich New Yorkers. Today, you can see a replica steamboat from the 19th century on the lake's shores. Raquette is also located on a section of the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail, which starts in Old Forge, NY and ends in Fort Kent, ME.
