Lycoming, New York Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

For the purpose of this article, we're going to focus on the population and steets of Lycoming City, Pennsylvania. The city's boundaries encompass about seven square miles, or 4,500 acres. The city's boundaries are roughly defined by Lycoming Creek, which flows east-west and forms the border between the Sixth and Seventh wards. The city is primarily built on a bench in the river valley that slopes upward to hills to the north.

In the 1800s, there were many one-room schools in Lycoming County. These were built with a belfry and a wooden porch, but were largely used for woodsheds, washhouses, and classrooms. The school building burned down in 1861, one night before the school year began. The one-room school building was used for teaching grades one to four, while grades 5-8 were taught at Pine Run.
