The City of Fort Johnson City is situated in Tennessee. It was founded in 1856 as a railroad station and soon became a major railroad hub for the southeast. The city was home to three railway lines, including the standard gauge Clinchfield Railroad and the narrow gauge ET&WNC. These railroads offered scenic trips through the Appalachian mountains. Today, the city is home to the Southern Railway, which is a part of Norfolk Southern.
