If you've ever wondered about the population and steets of South Sutton, you're not alone. South Sutton City has a long history of immigration and has recently become the home to many refugees. Over the last few years, the city has successfully resettled more than 2000 people from over 24 different countries. Most come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Somalia, Bhutan, Syria, and Afghanistan.

South Sutton has twenty-one public schools that educate more than 25,000 students. There are 34 elementary schools and four middle schools in the city. The school system also has several learning centers, a Night Life adult education program, and a Public-access television station. The city is also home to the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science and a number of other institutes of higher learning. In fact, one of them, the South Sutton Academy, was established in 1834.

Consequently, black Muslim-owned stores began to crop up throughout the community. Other black stores opened up throughout the city, and most of the employees were racially integrated.
