The 2010 Census recorded a variety of demographic statistics about the residents of Grantsdale City, Pennsylvania. Approximately 37.4% of the population was under the age of 18, while 10.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24. Twenty-four percent were between the ages of 25 and 44, while 17.7% were over sixty-four and 8.5% were 65 or older. The median age was 27 years. The population of Grantsville is approximately 7,000. The city was originally named Twenty Wells because of the numerous artesian springs that were found in the area. In 1850, the town became one of Brigham Young's 350 Mormon colonies in the Utah Territory. The town was renamed Willow Creek in 1850, after General George D. Grant, who led a military group to control hostile Native Americans in the Tooele Valley. In 1925, the Lincoln Highway passed through the town, boosting business along Main Street.
