The mayor elect was C. H. Ardis. William Hardy served as clerk. He was followed by John G. Warren, who was chosen clerk. Ward No. 1 had a mayor elect, while Ward No. 4 was represented by W. T. Hardee.

R. T. Boggs. In 1853, a Presbyterian pastor from Shreveport came to Minden and taught in the church. In 1855, William Brooks was the next teacher. In 1859, W. B. Scott and H. B. Scales joined the congregation.

The town's history includes a rich history of innovation. In the early 1800s, a blacksmith named Chris Chaffe established a livery stable and a blacksmith shop in Minden. His father had moved to the area from England in 1851. The Chaffe family settled in the town and enjoyed varied success with their business. He built a shop, bought a foundry, and built a barn.
