The town of Brownstown Twp City, Michigan, is one of the nine original townships in Michigan. It was established in the 1880s as a farming community and now boasts a thriving business district. Today, residents enjoy a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, with the most pleasant months being June, September, and August. The most uncomfortably cold months are January and February.

The township is comprised of three separate segments, each with a different demographic. The southernmost boundary of the township is formed by the Huron River, which flows into Lake Erie. To the east and south of Brownstown are Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Riverview, and Southgate. The township shares a border with the township of Amherstburg, Ontario.

According to the 2010 Census, the population of Brownstown Twp City was 83,389 people. Forty-three percent were under the age of 18, whereas nine percent were 18-34. Fifty-seven percent of the population was married. One-fifth were single-person households, and 4.3% were senior citizens. The median age of the population was 33 years old.
