According to the 2010 census, the population of Cape Eliz City was 10,526 people, making it the fifth most populated town in Maine. The population was fairly evenly distributed. Twenty-five percent of the residents were under 18 years old, while four percent were between 18 and 24 years old. A third of all households were made up of married couples, while twenty-one percent were non-families. A small minority, 9.9%, lived alone and was over 65 years of age.
