The township was eventually established and a post office was installed at Quentin's general store, located at Rand and Quentin Roads.

In the 1960s, the village of Kildeer was the 32nd municipality in Lake County. At the time, the population was 153. At the time of the referendum, Brickman and other residents of Kildeer filed a lawsuit to have the decision overturned, but the Deer Park and Long Grove village boards declined to support the dissolution. The town of Kildeer became a village on March 22, 1958.
