Waresboro, Georgia Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

When you think of a town, you probably don't imagine the quaint, small, historic town that Waresboro is. While there are a few notable buildings in the city, you might also think of the railroad, which reaches the city from Waycross. Although Waresboro has a small population, its historical numbers are impressive, and it was once home to five mill houses and a log courthouse.

Before the railroad came to town, residents of Ware County felt that the area was more likely to grow than a little outlying community. Thus, they called their new settlement, Waresboro, "Junction" for a few years. Methodist church records show a Methodist church that opened in Junction in 1873, and later moved to Waycross, Georgia. Today, the town is a bustling center for commerce and industry.
