Sepulveda Boulevard is the longest street in Los Angeles County, stretching 42.8 miles (82.4 km) between Mission Hills in the San Fernando Valley and Long Beach. This street is also the city's longest. The shortest street in the city is Powers Place, which stretches only thirteen feet between Alvarado Terrace and Bonnie Brae.

In 1927, residents of Mission Acres decided to rename the area. Sepulveda Boulevard is the primary north/south thoroughfare. It crosses Sepulveda Pass to the south. It is also an important part of Los Angeles' transportation network.
