The population of Linda City is approximately 20,649 people. It is located in the northern part of the Central Valley, 30 miles north of Sacramento. The city is known for its agricultural economy and working class character. Residents can also enjoy the proximity to Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. There are plenty of opportunities for employment and recreation within a 50-mile radius.

The city is located in Yorba Linda County. It is home to the Yorba Linda Star, a daily newspaper that began publication in 1917. It is available at city halls free of charge and is delivered to every house in the city. Its articles are also available on microfilm at the Yorba Linda Public Library.

Linda City is a growing community. As of the 2010 census, there were 64 044 residents living in households. Another 93 residents lived in non-institutionalized group quarters. The median house value was below the state average. The percentage of people with lower education levels is significantly higher than the state average.

The city was once an agricultural community with a population of a few hundred. In 1769, Spanish explorers first visited the area and awarded Juan Pablo Grijalva a land grant to develop it. In the 19th century, the Yorba family kept ownership until it was sold. In the mid-19th century, the city became a commercial hub, and a Pacific Electric Railroad line was built in 1918.
