The City of June Lake has a relatively low population density. In the 2010 census, the median age of the residents was 40.5 years. Twenty-seven percent of residents were under the age of eighteen, while nine percent were 18-24 years old. In addition, forty-five percent of households were made up of married couples, and thirty-one percent of households were non-families. The city's median age was 41 years old, and males outnumbered females eighteen and older.

In the city, streets serve multiple purposes. They provide infrastructure for automobiles, as well as mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists. Before the emergence of automobiles, streets were places where people gathered, performed civic duties, and held public meetings.
